My hair dyeing experience

I haven't posted in a while because I didn't know what to write about. My mind was completely blank. And now as I'm sat on a long journey train to university I decided to write about what experience I had with BOXED hair dyes.

So it all started off when I was 14. I wanted to have beautiful blonde hair but my natural hair colour was more mousy blonde than what I wanted it to be. I begged my mum and finally she put a few highlights in my hair to make it lighter. I loved it. When I turned 15 that's when I went all in and dyed my hair fully blonde. I loved it even more. My hair was long ish and thick and beautifully blonde. Of Course that was the start of a very big mistake that I made. As the years went on I kept dying my hair killing it more and more each time. There were times where I felt like brunette so I went to the shop and got a brunette hair dye. Then I wanted to be blonde again so I went back a few weeks later and I went back to blonde. The cycle continued blonde to brunette, brunette to blonde, blonde to red, red to blonde and so on... My hair kept getting ruined and I kept trying to go brunette to grow out the damaged hair but I was always going back to blonde.

Untill late January 2015. I finally went to the hair dresser and decided to do something good to my hair. She wasn't impressed with the state of my hair but I wasn't surprised my hair was horrendous. We talked for a while and we both came to the decision what colours I should have in my hair to make it more subtle. (I wanted highlights and low lights). The hair dressed advised me what colours would suit me and we went ahead with the process. 4 hours later I had beautifully styled and dyed hair which felt miles better (I got to keep my length). I also bought a shampoo and conditioner which worked wonders on my hair and 2 months or so my hair is on an aswesome condition (blog about the shampoo has already been posted)

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you just starting off wanting to dye your hair and box hair dyes seems like a good idea at the time because it's cheap, easy and you can do it in the comfort of your own home. It's not a good idea though. You ruin your hair, the colour doesn't turn out like it shows on the box and you end up with patches of previous hair colour if you don't do it correctly. Invest money in to your hair. Pay extra but be happy with its condition and style it the way you WANT to and not the way you HAVE to.

That's it for now I guess.

See you soon
